ANDROID ONE: FIND THE BEST BETWEEN THE THREE PHONE’S, RIGHT HERE..!!

DESCRIPTION OF THE "ANDROID ONE" PROGRAM :

The Android One Program was announced at Google I/O back in June, 2014, and it is an interesting take by Google in providing consistent, high quality Android experience on entry-level devices. The main objective of this program is, phone manufacturers will build inexpensive hardware that costs between RS.7000 and RS.10000, but the software updates will be taken care of, by Google. Google has also promised that this batch of android one devices will receive android updates for up to 2 years, which is a great thing, Android One phones will basically be low-cost google play edition devices, like the nexus line-up of phones 

LET'S GET STARTED.

To start of with, let me tell you that there are three android one based smart phones Ie: Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream Uno and Karbonn Sparkle V and all the three are identical in terms of specification's and software but are manufactured by different (Indian) manufacturers,But the performance of these three phones are slightly different, Take a look below to find out what, we found as a diffrenciating  factor between these three, first let's check out the common factors. 

All The Three Phones Have In Common,

A 4.5inch IPS LCD Display, with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. (218 ppi)

a 5MP Rear Camera which can  shoot videos @ 720p and a front facing 2MP Camera.

Android OS, 4.4.4 (kitkat), with guaranteed updates for 2 years as claimed by Google

Quad Core 1.3GHz cortex A7 CPU, based on Mediatek's MT6582 Chipset
1GB RAM 
Mali 400, GPU
And 1700mAh, li-ion battery, providing 6 hours of talktime as claimed by Google

THE DIFFERENCIATING FACTOR'S

1. LOOK AND FEEL :

Micromax Canvas A1 : The canvas A1 looks and feels a lot thinner among the other two at just 9mm which is good for a entry level device at this price point, and  weigh's in at about 142 grams with the battery, It also features a soft-touch plastic back panel which feels great to touch and this phone also feature's the iconic camera module showcased at 
Google I/O 

Spice Dream Uno : The Dream uno is also similar to Canvas A1 with a thickness of around 9.2mm which makes it feel good in hand and as said above it is very good for an entry level device like this, the dream uno weigh's in at 139 grams with the battery and this phone also feature's a soft-touch plastic back panel which feels good in hand.

Karbonn Sparkle V : unlike the Canvas A1 and Dream Uno the Karbonn Sparkle v measures in at 10.4mm thick, which makes it the thickest among the three, and weigh's in at about 138 grams with the battery which is the lightest among the three, but this phone does not have the feel of soft touch plastic which makes it fell rugged in hand and not so great.

PERFORMANCE :

MICROMAX CANVAS  A1 - Performance wise we tested* the Canvas A1 using antutu benchmark (V5.1) and nenamark 2 which gave scores of 18767 overall and 63.2 FPS respectively, which is awsome for an entry level device like this.

SPICE DREAM UNO - Performance wise we tested* the Dream Uno  using antutu benchmark (V5.1) and nenamark 2 which gave scores of 18649 overall and 62.3 FPS respectively, which is again awsome for an entry level device like this.

KARBONN SPARKLE V - Performance wise we tested* the Sparkle V using antutu benchmark (V5.1) and nenamark 2 which gave scores of 18696 overall and 63 FPS respectively, which is also a very good score.

*Tests are done only to test overall performance and not the only deciding factor here in, because test results can vary from time to time on different phones depending on the software installed, free ram and so on.... we test our phones only after restarting them which closes all the running apps and also frees up some ram.

VERDICT

Based on personal use and tests conducted we concluded that the "MICROMAX CANVAS A1" is the best pick here ,with a great brand value and an overall great presence in the Indian market, and not to forget it's the second largest smartphone vendor in India
